About ARCCI

ARCCI is the Arnhem Centre for Creative Economy and Innovation of ArtEZ Institute of the Arts and HAN University of Applied Sciences. Represented by Dany Jacobs (Professorship Art, Culture and Economy at ArtEZ and HAN) and Jose Teunissen (Professorship Fashion Design at ArtEZ), ARCCI focuses in research, new insights and projects to strengthen the connection between creative economy, design and innovation.

ARCCI (pronounced archi), as the name implies, is a knowledge centre that promotes research in the field of innovation, design and creative economy. Research, therefore, can be theoretical, empirical, applied or policy-oriented. Although ARCCI is based in Arnhem and focuses on the Arnhem region working closely with the Design Platform Arnhem (OPA), it aims also at the wider, national and international sphere of influence.

The arcs of ARCCI
ARCCI – in correct Italian ‘archi’ – refers to ‘arcs’, appropriate symbol of the bridge that we want to create between culture and economy. Culture and creativity help to strengthen the attention for competitiveness and innovativeness in ‘traditional sectors’. Moreover, this connection helps creative professionals to develop their entrepreneurial activities.
